Sensory-Friendly
Performances
Sensory-friendly performances are designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to families with children who are autistic or have other sensory sensitivities.
Accommodations for these performances include:

Lower sound level

Lights remain on at a low level

A reduction of strobe lighting or lighting focused on the audience

Patrons are free to talk and move about during the performance
The sensory-friendly performance is typically the first Saturday matinee of each run. Contact the box office to confirm scheduling before ticket purchase.
Assistive Listening
Devices
Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) amplify and clarify sound by cutting down or eliminating ambient noise. Headsets are available at all performances and are distributed free-of-charge on a first-come, first-served basis at the Box Office.
Sign Language
Interpretation
Sign language interpretation is scheduled for each of CTA’s three productions throughout the year. Sign language interpretation is provided by interns from the CCBC Interpreter Preparation Program.
The ASL-interpreted performance is typically the first Saturday matinee of each run. Contact the box office to confirm scheduling before ticket purchase.
